Summer time is here - why not visit Whidbey Island

Mt. Baker with the sailboats in the foreground - simply awesome!

Summer time on beautiful Whidbey Island in Washington has to be the best!  I guess I am bias because I have called Whidbey Island my home for over 26 years.  Whidbey Island is the largest Island in the continental United States and is approximately 50 miles in length.  I live on the north end of Whidbey in a quaint Dutch town called Oak Harbor. It is the best place to raise children, enjoy nature and take life easy and slow.  When you visit be sure to prepare yourself for Island time, which is more relaxed and less stressful than from the big city - just an FYI!. We are so close to so many amazing parks, recreation areas, boating and Canada.  We are surrounded by Mt. Baker, the Olympic mountains and the cascades, it just doesn't get any better than this.  Seattle is only 2-1/2 hours drive and Canada about 1-1/2 hours, we are so blessed!

The reason I wanted to write this post today is to introduce you to my hub on hubpages where I share some very awesome RV and camping parks to visit while you are here.  If you love RVing or camping, this should be on your bucket list.  I know after reading the hub and seeing all the beauty - you will definately want to visit!

So enjoy the hub and all the information, which includes google maps showing you where these parks are located, etc.  There is tons of info on this hub so do take your time and enjoy.

I look forward to my next post - and until then God Bless and have fun this summer - you deserve it.

Updates on my family

Greetings and welcome once again for a quick update on my family.  My brother Marcell has left Tyler Texas and is now at Spohn Rehab Center in Corpus Christi, Texas near my family - Praise God.  He is over the infection which is another bit of good news, so now it's a lot of hard work in getting stronger again.  Our prayers are with him.

As for my neice Audrey, round three of chemo this week but reports from my sister are that she is taking it much better this time, which is amazing news.  I do hope all goes well this week and that tumor begins to shrink and she doesn't have to get any more treatments.

The newest family member who is going through some rough times is my brother in law Steve.  He has sceloderma and leukemia, is at Virginia Mason in Seattle for chemo treatments.  That is a fantastic hospital and they are treating him really great.  He is not very strong right now so our prayers for him are also welcome.  The Drs. advised him he will more than likely be there for a month so - keep those prayers and positive thoughts coming - he can certainly use them and so can his wife Marsha.  She needs a lot of strength right now too, but God is good and nothing is impossible with him - Amen.

Until next time - may your days be filled with sunshine and hope and never take your health for granted - we certainly don't.  Blessings!

Good morning everyone.  The past couple of weeks have been very sad ones for my family.  There have been some unexpected things thrown at us from every direction.  The ongoing chemo treatments for my young neice Audrey is one of them.  She is on her third round of chemo treatments in Houston, Texas and this time her body just wasn't ready for it.  She experienced so much nausea that they had to delay the treatments, but by God's grace she took all four of them.  They were given to her one a day for the four days.  She is ready to come home - so please keep her in your prayers.  She is a beautiful woman in her thirties with a husband and two awesome children, she is my sisters pride and joy.  May God heal her body from this dreadful disease and shrink those tumors in her body.

The other is my brother Marcell was in a horrific accident a couple of weeks ago.  It was the Monday after Fathers day, see he is a truck driver, drives the big rigs and one evening he and a friend parked their big trucks and walked over to a restaurant for dinner.  On the way back as they drove on the shoulder of the highway a pickup truck with a young man about 22 yrs old swirved and hit my brother, threw him a few hundred yards.  My brother is still hospitalized, he has had leg surgery, they placed pins in his leg.  He recently had hip surgery, his hip was broken in three places, plus he has had numerous blood transfusions and is in a lot of pain.  I know God will heal him,  and he is in our prayers each and every day.  Keep him and his family wife Vanessa and daughter Jennifer in your prayers as well.  May God's healing power heal him in the name of Jesus.  Amen

My New Listings on Etsy!!!

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I posted on this blog...so sorry.  I actually now am working part-time for Dr. Dawn an awesome Chiropractor here in Oak Harbor so my time now is spent helping her at the office.  If you have ever thought of seeing a chiropractor for any of your aches and pains, she is a miracle worker let me tell you.  First hand I see the patients come in hurting and leave with a smile.

But I am still doing my cross stitch patterns and am very excited to announce more listings at my Etsy shop "Mary's Stitch Shop".  Be sure and browse around the shop, there are new patterns and some old ones that I am sure you will love to stitch.  Hope you are enjoying the warmer weather and are getting to enjoy the beauty that surrounds you.  Here in Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island we are so spoiled I think God each and every day.

Until next time, be safe and God Bless!

Howdy! Fall is in the air here on Whidbey Island with the color of leaves changing into the beautiful yellow orange and rust colors. Fall is such a beautiful time of the year, with the crisp cooler air, taking walks is so much more enjoyable. Today I wanted to share a beautiful letter I read the other day. It goes like this: Dear Friend, how are you? I just had to send a note to tell you how much I care about you. I saw you yesterday as you were talking with your friends, I waited all day hoping you would want to talk with me too. I gave you a sunset to close your day and a cool breeze to rest you and I waited. You never came. It hurt me, but I still love you because I am your friend. I saw you sleeping last night and longed to touch your brow, so I spilled moonlight upon your face. Again I waited, wanting to rush down so we could talk. I have so many gifts for you! You awoke and rushed to work - my tears were in the rain. If you would only listen to me. I love you!! I try to tell you in blue skies and in the quiet green grass. I whisper it in the leaves on the trees and breathe it in the colors of flowers, shout it to you in mountain streams, give the birds love songs to sing. I clothe you with warm sunshine and perfume the air with nature scents. My love for you is deeper than the ocean and bigger than the biggest need in your heart. Ask me! Talk with me. Please don't forget me. I have so much to share with you but I won't hassle you any further. It is YOUR decision. I have chosen you and I will wait. I love you - your friend JESUS.
